Note: Irrespective of the project methodology i.e. waterfall or agile or prototyping etc., the pieces of work that have well defined work are sent offshore.

3.  Managed Offshore Model

The Managed Offshore Model goes beyond simply executing software development projects from our Offshore Development Center (ODC). An ODC is a facility fully managed by GNet Group, specifically setup for executing development projects on a dedicated basis for you.

Under the managed model GNet Group is responsible to manage the operations of the offshore development center. The deliverables, project management is directly under your control. The delivery team headed by the delivery manager functionally report into your onsite project manager(s).

Apart from the delivery teams, we provide dedicated management of the center through delivery managers and relationship managers. The ODC is also supported by our Corporate, shared services like HR, QA and R&D. It draws upon our pool of professionals to meet the ever-changing needs for a variety of skills, adhering to tight delivery schedules and scaling up in response to increasing workloads. The management processes, control and review mechanisms ensure complete transparency of progress, output, plans and problems, as if the teams were working at the same location. The offshore team works as an extension of onsite teams.

Typically the offshore network is isolated and only integrates with your development network conforming to corporate standards prescribed by your organization. Physical access to the premises is controlled and provided only authorized members belonging i.e. team members of your offshore delivery team. This setup provides maximum privacy, security and control for IP development.

Typical benefits of a Managed Model are:

  • Allows you to focus greater energy on your core business by taking away your burden of recruitment, training and retaining.
  • Lower costs when compared with Project based outsourcing.
  • Retention of knowledge - business and processes
  • Quick start-up capability for new requirements/projects
  • Integration with your practices and methodologies
  • Long term support for legacy applications
  • Experiments with New/Emerging Technologies at Lower Risks/Costs

Managed Offshore Model is ideal for software product development where there is a significant amount of ongoing development and maintenance work.
