Business Intelligence Readiness Assessment

 

 

Group Workshop:

Presentation to discuss concepts of Business Intelligence, the Information Nervous System, the Information Value Chain (along the 4 perspectives of the Balance Scorecard), and Corporate Performance Management and the associated continuums of each of these areas:

  • Planning – Budget, Reporting, Planning, Modeling
  • Monitoring – Tactical Process Scorecard/Dashboard, Value-Chain Scorecard/Dashboard, Management “Mission Control”
  • Core BI (Reporting and Analysis)

Time Frame: 2 hours – 3 hours

Participants:  All of those individuals we will have one-on-one meetings with in the next step

 

Individual sessions:

Meet individually with both management (strategic)  and operational (tactical) focused employees that align along the four perspectives of the Balance Scorecard

  • Finance – accounting and planning,
  • Customer – Marketing and/or Branding
  • Processes – both Customer facing and Internal Processes
  • Resources – HR and IT

And, if need be, the individual(s) who can give a overall view of the Mission/Vision/Strategic Themes

Time Frame: 1-2 hours per session.

 

Preparation of Assessment:

20 – 40 hours, based on how much information is gathered during the individual meetings

 

Delivery of Assessment:

  • Meet with general group again to discuss overall all organizational assessment of BI status
  • Meet with key individuals across each of the four perspectives to discuss findings and make recommendations of next steps
  •  

Total Time:

60 – 80 hours
